About me!

Hello! My name is Kira, and I’m a UX/UI designer based in Dayton, Ohio. I’ve always had a love for everything creative. And that love for creativity turned into a love for design.

I have a traditional art, digital arts, and graphic design background. Before UX Academy, I attended Bowling Green State University and acquired my Bachelors of Fine Arts degree with a major in Digital Arts. At BGSU, I took graphic design classes, coding classes, art classes, and a UX/UI design class. My skills in graphic design, coding, and art strengthen my skills as a UX/UI designer by enabling me to know what successful design looks like and by allowing me to understand the importance of creativity for a project. Coding also enables me to understand and communicate well with developers.

I wanted to go into UX/UI design because I wanted to be able to use my problem-solving, and creative skills to help create products that help people. I’m knowledgeable in user research, prototyping, ideating, wireframing, usability testing, feedback, and iteration. Through everything I’ve learned thus far, I am passionate about creating products that are truly helpful for the user.

When I’m not designing, I enjoy watching my favorite TV shows and movies, doing makeup, or drawing :)!
